Well, it has been a fun week with the kids being out of school. I was able to take down the tree, box up the Christmas decorations, and organize the kids' things.
Adam, almost 4, is potty trained but not bm trained. <
> So I've had my fair share of underwear clean up this week. I also thought that he was ready to not have to be constantly reminded and nagged to use the restroom. Was a bit wrong about that. I'm not sure if this is something that I'll be struggling with for a while because of his autism. I haven't seen him initiate the need to use the restroom though so am trying to psych myself up to be the "go to the potty" nag. He had a great Christmas and is enjoying his new gifts. He was the first one up Christmas morning BUT the last one to realize that it was Christmas morning. Poor guy. He sat on the couch for at least a half hour with the gifts in his eyes view just talking to himself. I finally got up and went to see him and he still didn't make the connection. About 15 minutes later after the rest of us got up we took him to see the vast array of gifts and asked him what day it was. He responded "fire fighting day". He perked up after we told him that it was Christmas and there were presents under the tree for him. Sitting right in front of the tree he says "there are?" He is getting antsy though so school is near and am awaiting for Tuesday to come and our schedules to come back.
Rebekah has been very good. I need to praise her more. She is a great help and does really well with her little brothers. We had an incident where Adam sat on her face and continuously jumped on it. She was rightfully upset but still loved on him not too long after. Adam is very lucky to have such and accepting and understanding sister. Ethan is as well. She keeps a watchful eye on him when I'm unable to. She got a part in the Jungle Book play at her school. They bought the rights from Disney. She plays the monkey. She has practice twice week through January. She is really excited. We are as well. I'm anxious for her to get back in the groove. She gets too mopey when she isn't in school.
Finally I'm aching for Ethan to be able to get a peaceful nap! LOL Adam is constantly waking him up with his loud tone of voice. I know that he can't always help it but it is a bit jarring and startles Ethan out of a deep sleep. Sometimes Ethan will sleep through the jarring loud tone of voice and I will be able to tell Adam to keep it down but that is only sometimes. He has been insanely fussy and I think lack of sleep is part of the reason. Oh I can't wait for school!
